Our school library at Georges River College Hurstville Campus is a vibrant and inclusive environment that is designed to support:

  • reading for pleasure
  • guided inquiry to search, locate and evaluate information
  • student wellbeing
  • access to a range of resources.  

Our refurbished library is well-resourced with technology and physical books specifically targeted to the interests and reading levels of our students. Spaces are created purposefully to support a range of learning modes, including:

  • explicit
  • discussion
  • collaboration
  • independent
  • demonstration
  • experiential.

Library lessons focus on literacy, information fluency, and digital literacy. Educational software is used to support effective library programs. These include:

  • Education Perfect - for personalised learning pathways to develop literacy
  • Reading Renaissance - for personalised reading recommendations and tracking of reading levels
  • Oliver - for managing, recommending and loaning resources
  • ePlatform - an online library for borrowing eBooks and Audiobooks.
